Reptiles and Amphibians

A little bit about this album:

First off, let's make it clear that snakes are NOT slimy!  Depending on the water venturing nature of individual species, they might be WET but they are NEVER slimy. I'd like to have words with whoever started that nasty smear campaign against them. I get it if you're afraid of snakes- that can be a valid, realistic fear, especially for the venomous ones. But to think that all snakes and reptiles are slimy and gross. . nah, that's just not true. Come by my classroom and hold one of the adorable crested geckos. Those guys are CUTE!

Amphibians, however. . . now those critters ARE slimy. They won't give you warts for touching one but they've definitely got a sticky thing going on. Be sure to get your hands wet before picking one up however. Unlike us, they can't go to the health spa for moisturizer. Better yet, just leave them all be. They have important things to do, like eating mosquitos and other pests. Let's cheer on the reptiles and amphibians. They do the jobs that none of us would ever want to do!
